I like being productive. It’s fun, and even occasionally satisfying, to finish stuff. However, I have some problems, as we all do.
Most people procrastinate. That’s normal, and from my life everything stems from that. I am a sophisticated procrastinator, (or I like to think) so I need to up the lazing about game. For example, instead of doing stuff I will get lasting joy from, such as writing or completing longer-term tasks, I do random stuff that’s quick and easy.
This extends to many things. Even if I hype myself all day about writing my actual story (I have some world building done, I promise!) I don’t usually get around to actually doing it. There’s other, quicker things to do, such as write these posts. It feels very ironic to be writing this instead of working on a story.
So, I’ll now give a spiel about how you should get to long-term stuff. Ok, imagine I did it. It’s an important task but I don’t want to do it.
Some steps I try to take (veering into writing territory) is, for example, coming up with new ideas every time I want to write. A blank slate somehow incites much more writing excitement for me than a full one. This is another hope I have for web serial format, and I certainly hope it goes well as the Wandering Inn or other ones, though I’m skeptical.
Also, on an slightly different note, I’m just going to list a few tasks that I think most people might have a hard and frequent time addressing, in hopes of encouraging my dear readers:
• Writing
• Calendar-Fixing
• Learning a language
Alright I’m going to neglect the rest of this task now.
